Time to Laugh!!!

Jeff and I have been going through some boxes.  We want to clean up the house and get rid of some things. While I was going through some boxes I came upon this little story.  Jeff and I laughed really hard, enjoy.

The reverend’s wife was leaving for a week on a women’s retreat.  As she was kissing him goodbye, she told him not to look inside the black box on top of the mantel.  He promised not to and wished her a safe trip.  After a few days, the thought of the black box bugged him so much he went and looked inside and saw 10,000 in cash and three eggs.  He didn’t understand and awaited his wife’s return.  When his wife came home, no sooner was she through the door when he said “curiosity got the best of me, I looked in the box.  I can’t see why you have eggs in there!”  She replied “we’ve been married for 35 years, and I’ve gone to everyone of your sermons, most have been good;  but when you give a bad one, I put an egg in the box.  The reverend replied “well, three eggs after all these years isn’t bad.  What about the 10,000 dollars?”  “That’s easy,” she replied, “everytime I got a dozen I sold them.”  This was submitted by Dawn Sparks.

I found this one and thought of Indian Lake Papa and Mama, you have so inspired me with your love for others and your volunteer work.  And to any of my blogger friends with a heart to spread God’s love and word.  Love all of you.

“And so we understand that ordinary people are messengers of the Most High.  They go about their tasks in holy anonymity.  Often, even unkown to themselves. Yet, if they had not been there, if they had not said what they said or did what they did, it would not be the way it is now.  We would not be the way we are now.  Never forget that you too  yourself may be a messenger.  Perhaps even one whose errand extends over several lifetimes.”  Lawrence Kushner, “Honey from the Rock”

That is is beautiful, I hope that it touched you like it did me.  Love all of you, from Tanya

  1. i dont know if you realise this( but i think you know it) but when i read about you and jeff doing stuff together, i can sense a really wonderful relationship going on… It really wonderful to have an intimate relationship with God, but its even more wonderful to experience it with your loved one…

  2. Joanna, you can have the same realtionships. When Jeff and I were first married, we were really not walking with Jesus. I have to tell you that Jesus is the only person who taught Jeff and I to love each other. He is the only other person I will allow in our marriage. Do not let anyone in your marriage but God. And never talk about your spouse in an abusive way. It is really important. I love Jeff with all my heart and he is my best friend. God bless you Joanna. Love Tanya

  3. Daniel and I got a real kick out of the story. Thanks for the laugh! Love ya!
